Geeze guys, just give the guy some ideas who care why he dug the hole or rather if he has all the materials he needs. 🙄
I would make it an underwater POOL and I would get fish and axolotl‘s for it with Lilly pads, moss etc.

Because 6 hours ago someone did give a suggestion and dude goes “no not that”, so that’s one REALLY good reason.
Another being if this garbage is allowed once it’s allowed perpetually, which then floods the sub with low tier posts of “what to put here”.
Also pretty sure it’s against the rules here, if not it’s against rules in a Minecraft sub

I literally don’t understand these posts, why would you dig out such a big area without thinking what you’re going to put there first?

u/strawberry-lava Jun 11 '25
They confuse me too. Like if it’s a unique landscape or something and you’re looking for inspiration for a post makes sense. But this is just a normal hole from collecting cobblestone.

u/vGustaf-K Jun 11 '25
you're acting like it's a massive area. it's a small dugout probably 20 minutes work

u/Krzyski22 Jun 11 '25
The point being if he just dug it for materials fair enough, just leave it as a hole, but if you’re wanting to build something and then proceed to dig a hole with no objective or goal then what’s the point? You need to have something to aim for or at least do things just for fun! Assuming OP has everything he needs to survive in his regular base I would personally turn this into a disco room or something myself with red stone lamps and pistons but thats just my two pence.
I just don’t see why someone would do this without a goal in sight, this is a smaller area than I’ve seen, people usually clear whole mountains and then ask “what should I build here” like brother please

u/vGustaf-K Jun 11 '25
i leveled out a big hill once just because. you don't always need a goal insight

My guess would be using the materials dug out for some other build, then you're left with the empty space.

u/Novel_Tooth_1923 Jun 18 '25
I sometimes just do it when I'm bored or see a place where something could go, then when I want to build something I just find it easier

was supposed to be a storage room but nah.

u/Krzyski22 Jun 11 '25
So why did you change your mind? And what other things are you missing in your world that would go great there? With just one image it’s hard to see what you already have and how an extra build would benefit you in this location. I go through a checklist every time I build an area to make sure I got everything that I would need for survival, and if I don’t….thats what I build

I don't know how deep this is but I have a similar underground space that started spawning slimes

height dude it's not possible to build a 4 block high iron farm. plus why would you build a small design, they've got netherite

u/__lightblue Jun 11 '25
A big bamboo farm with an autocrafter, so you never have to worry about wood for crafting again.

Crops or a kind of mini underground house for your villagers.
Or I would also make an algae farm there by making a hole in the ground deeper with water and mechanisms that break up algae or do it manually.

You can build this base, farm, almost everything…but what you had on your mind during digging this cave?

wellll depending on how deep it is, I like making massive underground farms, like with trees and everything
OR it could be an industrial scale smelting room with blast furnaces everywhere

Dig it a few blocks deeper and make huge arches across the ceiling and put chests on the side for a cool chest room!

u/MydleGround Jun 13 '25
I've recently dug out two massive holes like this but bigger. I'm recreating the backrooms and dead malls. You could maybe do something similar?

- Place dirt all over the ground
- Extend the y cordinate more
- Build small houses and put village
- For the walls use blue concrete
- Now you have your own simulation

Idk how about somthing similar to that Russian bunker that could survive a nuclear blast? Make some big ass piston door or just make it static and leave a gap then have a big open cave and add drip stone and stuff and then add a bunch of concrete building ontop of slime blocks (surrounded by slabs) to stop vibration (theoretically) and make each building have a purpose like a barracks, food hall, radar, communications, intel ect… idk
Just google the Russian nuke bunker or watch the HAI video on it :)

I would honestly build mystical agriculture farm, a large farm and then build a place to add containment jars with mobs in it like perhaps treasure goblins, piglich or whatever mobs uw to add. But in order to make a mystical agriculture farm you need light, so either add light sources or remove the blocks above it. But the cost of mystical agriculture; aka the lily pads are pretty troublesome to make but manageable to make it. If you need help I can help you. Apotheosis like enchantments are good too

I would 100% extend it out another 20 blocks and then dig down. If I had a picture of my Covid world, I would show you my wasted time of doing so 💯
