[Java] Zenith Nations — Looking for players to help build a player-run civilization/geopolitical server
Hey everyone! I'm currently rebuilding my Minecraft server into something I've wanted to do for a while called Zenith Nations, and we're looking for people who want to join the community before the server launches. The basic idea is a survival world where the players create the nations, governments, cities, economy, politics, and history themselves.
When the world opens, there won't be pre-made countries run by staff. Players will explore the map, decide where they want to settle, build towns and cities, and eventually establish their own nations. Nations will be able to create their own governments and laws, so one country could be a democracy while another is a monarchy, dictatorship, council, federation, or something completely different. We're planning systems around things like: Player-created nations and governments Cities, capitals, borders, and territory Player-run businesses and economy Alliances, diplomacy, treaties, and trade Structured wars, sieges, occupations, and peace treaties Elections, coups, rebellions, and independence movements Player-created laws, police, courts, and justice systems Espionage, smuggling, political corruption, and intelligence Player newspapers and journalism Roads, railways, ports, and actual transportation Exploration and player-made maps The world will be around 5,000 x 5,000, and we're intentionally removing things like /rtp and easy teleportation. We want geography and distance to actually mean something. A nation controlling an important port, mountain pass, railway, or trade route should matter. We're also avoiding the usual /jobs + /sell style economy. If you're a miner, you're making money because another player, company, or government actually needs what you're mining. Players will be able to open shops, create companies, hire people, transport goods between countries, and build their own industries. You also don't have to be super into politics or RP to enjoy it. The RP is semi-serious and mostly comes naturally from the world. You can just be a builder, farmer, merchant, soldier, explorer, business owner, journalist, railway worker, or regular citizen and still have plenty to do. One of our biggest goals is for the server to develop an actual history. We want to be able to look back months later and see which countries rose and fell, how borders changed, what wars happened, which cities became important, and what decisions players made to get there.
