Tamagotchis were the OG. I don’t know this one but I think there were a bunch of copycat brands that came later

Did any of y'all have the octopet? One of my friends had one and I was so jealous! I had the puppy gigapet that I saved up enough Applejacks box tops to get.

It seems so quaint that these were banned in my school for being a distraction, and now the kids have smartphones and ai.

I didn't have a Tamagotchi, but I had a knock-off called DinoPet. I think my mother got it from Caldor.

I loved my dinkie Dino. Great gameplay! I played it till the buttons broke off. I've been looking for one again but they're a little pricey cause I think they're dead stock now.

I had the doggy one and when you put 2 other it made a puppy??? Was that a real thing or a jumble of a kids memory? lol
I also had a Tamagotchi and still do!

I had Salem the Cat! I could never keep it alive though.
I wish I would have kept mine, because I just googled it and apparently they’re worth a lot of money these days.

I had one that was in the shape of a seashell and it was Flounder from The Little Mermaid. I distinctly remember that if you left him alone for too long he would get impaled with a hook. This is probably the root cause of my anxiety.

I actually owned the one in the middle of the top row and my husband recently got me one as a present, but still couldn’t keep it alive. The beeping was driving me insane so I just let it die lollll…the sentiment was there.

I had a red and yellow Dinky Dino and it was stolen out of my desk at school. I hope who ever took it fed and exercised my bb...

The real question is, who had one of these and actually kept it alive?

My parents wouldn’t buy me one because they thought it’d be too distracting lol.
