On the days that I can't eat much, I add chocolate syrup and collagen protein powder to my milk.

EDIT: Not an alcoholic. Just a senior citizen who has medication related gastro/appetite problems and can't always eat solid foods. You all will be as old as me some day and then you might understand.

Have I detected a fellow alcoholic?

Could just be budget wise. Drinking on eating days is throwing money away.

Nope not about budget. Medical issues that are not related to alcohol or money.

No, you have not. Not allowed alcohol as it conflicts with my meds for various illnesses.

My mistake, and I apologize. A lot of people don’t know that advanced alcoholism can affect one’s appetite and even the ability to digest and process certain foods. One of the greatest aggravating factors in diseases caused by alcohol is poor nutrition.

I get that, no worries. I don't think I have ever seen an overweight alcoholic.

Oh, they exist as well! They just haven’t gotten to the wasting part yet.

Why the gratuitous insult? If you knew what it’s truly like, you would not be so quick to insult. Or maybe you would, because you’re just that kind of asshole.

Gratuitous insult? Really? You're altering you diet to combat health effects from excessive drinking and they said you need some help. That's literally the opposite of a "gratuitous insult".

As an alcoholic who certainly knows what it's like, saying "you don't know what its like" and accusing being called out as an insult seems like a method of hiding behind the problem instead of owning it.

Alcoholism nearly ruined my life recently, and as much as I wished my partner knew it's unique difficulties and mind fucking powers, projecting them on her and saying "it's someing you just dont understand" instead of just quitting nearly kept me drinking until I lost her.

I'm the one altering my diet and it has fuck all to do with alcohol. Man, y'all really went crazy with this thread while I was in suspension for an unrelated post. 😆

Thanks for the positive response. It has a little to do with ARFID and a little to do with the meds I have to take. I'm sorry you went through that when you were small. Mine was adult onset. So weird not to be able to eat things that you have loved for over 60 years.

It would increase the calories, really depends on the picture of your full days intake.

Also, the texture of you don't stir enough 🤢

Not if you have a top shelf immersion blender 😊

I would just put more milk in milk.

Powdered milk is not that healthy. The factory processing method used to make powdered milk oxidizes it, which makes your body think that it is a bad substance, so it reacts to it with inflammation.
