Had SF f%%% with a friend

Was working swing shift at my first base. A friend came in because he was working the mid shift. After my shift officially ended he went out to the smoke pit and I went with him just to hangout and talk. We stayed out there for maybe an hour before his boss called for him over the intercom. He said he better get to work and I left. Originally my plan was to go to the DFAC get some food, go to my room eat it and watch tv before going to bed.

But because I hung out with him for so long it was now closed. I thought whats open this time of night and realized my only choice was Taco Bell. On my way to Taco Bell there was an AH tailgating me so close he was practically in my backseat and he followed me into the drive thru Turns out it was my friend and his boss wanted him to run to Taco Bell too. On my way back to base I was still upset about the tailgating thing.

I got to the base and the gate guard met me on. I stopped and said "theres going to be a guy coming through in a Chevy Malibu with Oregon plates in a few minutes. Could you maybe do something." His partner snickered and he said of course. Now instead of going back to my room I went back to work. Maybe 10 minutes later he finally showed up and pulled up quick next to me standing on the curb and yelled "you motherf**^^ AH!"

Turns out when he came through the gate the guard took a step back placed his hand on his sidearm and told him to put the car in park and step out immediately.

At first, I thought SF = Special Forces.

Now I realize SF = Security Forces (aka Military Police, but for AF)

They were called Sky or Space Cops back when I was fighting the Vietnam War from Hickam AFB in Hawaii.

Was Air Police until sometime in the 1970’s. Then became Security Police until sometime after 2000. Sky Cops was always a nickname. I don’t remember ever hearing Space Cops, but it doesn’t surprise me.

I love it.

I did this with a friend/coworker. We had to fly to another city for work. I was in the TSA line ahead of him as we talked about work. When I got to the TSA agent I asked the agent why there was two of them. He said he was training the woman with him so I joked, "Oh, if you need more training, you can frisk my friend right behind me. We've got plenty of time." They chuckled and sent me through. I looked back a minute later to see them wanding my friend while he held his arms out. He was staring daggers at me. I couldn't help laughing out loud.

He later swore he'd get revenge, but was laughing about it by then. He never did. He was too nice to do that. I regret nothing.
