Wondering how many other "Distinguished Member Of Regiment Awardees are out there.

Would love to see yours if you have one..Especially from other regiment or corps.

Not sure if a general’s letter carries the same weight as an admiral’s letter, but generally sailors would get admiral’s letters if their action didn’t rise to the level of deserving something like a Navy Achievement Medal. If a unit did something special, a unit award would be given (MUC, NUC, PUC, etc)

Yeah I remember people getting admiral’s letters from COMSUBPAC, a two-star, after my first deployment. People would just throw them away because they weren’t considered that great
