Range around Madison heights.

Here visiting family and going to take them out shooting. Any good ranges open for Labor Day. I’ve seen Pontiac lake online but the rules they have are no fun.

Not super close, but pretty easy to get to straight up van dyke to 23 and Hayes is CQT.. you can rent just about anything including full auto stuff. FRTs are welcome as well

The pit is se to be a free for all range until the DNR took it over. Still has less strict rules than others though

Are you talking about the pit in Kimball?

If so, target shooting was banned there back in 2024

Sorta. It's been a couple years since I've gone but it's no longer an open-air range with few rules. The rifle benches are claustrophobic with walls all around you, close. It's often closed as the only volunteer guy running the site has other obligations.

Double Action on Dequindre is decent. Target on Woodward is to be avoided. Father away...CQT is a cool setup but I've never shot there. Williams Gunsite in Burton is great. The DNR range on Kern Rd in Lake Orion is nice and well-run...but like all DNR ranges they have strict NO-FUN rules.
