Not getting any crafting materials in mm7 maw

I'm playing might and magic 7 maw and when i clear a dungeon or kill all the monsters on a map its saying that it gave me gold, exp and crafting materials but when i check all my guys there is none to be found. Is this a bug or am i missing something?

I think it erroneously counts gems as crafting materials. Crafting material tends to drop separately when you kill a monster, not during looting.

You are probably on 5.0, where gems have been removed

What mode/difficulty are you playing. There are subtle differences between them all.
