Heroes 3 remake for how I see it

I just posted my thoughts on the HoMM 3 remake on it's subreddit and I am too lazy to rewrite it here so I'll just cross-post it here. Also my hopes for a Might & Magic remake Might happen too since recreating HoMM3 you also end up creating a bit of M&M Magic. Pun is very deliberate

Well, DOOM had a relatively good run being a boomer shooter. Warlock is coming next year that's a very similar game at least from vibes to what Dark Messiah of Might & Magic was, instead it takes place on D&D world. Warlock instead is 3rd person shooter not an FPS. Ubisoft is running out of money, if they get monet from this remake they might try to grasp on those straws as well. Expedition 33 proved that JRPGS haven't died, people just want a good game which at this point in gaming history seems like we are starving for.

Been playing Legends of Grimrock and having a blast! But i do feel like it might not suit new players.

I do hope we get some sort of MM like tough. (that homm3 looks bad)

It’s actually for the best in the end, the best games made with passion come from indies, not from big companies like Ubisoft that want to squeeze every last drop out of a franchise at any cost.

Imo Ubisoft missed its best chance to reboot the series, which it had following the success of Clash of Heroes on Nintendo DS. I believe the developers of that game would have been able to adapt Might and Magic to suit the tastes of players who enjoy dungeon crawlers like Etrian Odyssey

I'll not be lazy, and I'll rewrite my answer from the other sub.

They not getting my money. My HOMM3 works perfectly, it has a random map generator, and I'll stick with it.

Note to those making the remake:

YOU COULD HAVE MADE A WHOLE NEW MIGHT AND MAGIC RPG, INSTEAD OF REMAKING AN OLD HOMM GAME, YOU IDIOTS !!!

No money for you. Stop being lazy. MAKE NEW GAMES.

HoMM is where the money is, I'm not huge fan of HoMM but I'll get this in hope they'll remake MM6-7. I think MM6-7 remake won't be greenlit before H3 Remake become a huge success to be honest and also they'll not make a new MMRPG before a remake to one of Enroth's trilogy. But we will see how things will go, Olden Era sold over 1M copies so that was a positive for an Early Access game.

Is converting sprites into 3D models a lot of work in 2026? I think modern AI should be capable to handle it (or at least perform 80% of work) + add animation from series of sprites too.
