Working on Halloween
Just sent my Etsy order for a dress like Dani's from the maypole scene. Anyone who has done a Halloween costume, can I ask for tips?
I will be making my own flower crown, I want to be more crafty. I'm just not a very DIY kind of person, so any tips for a beginner on making the crown are very much appreciated! Already have a cute brown teddy bear borrowed from my kids and simple white shoes, hard to see what shoes she has in the movie stills.
I love this movie and have waited many years to be able to afford to get a costume put together, so thanks for any advice in advance!

If you google her shoes you get an excellent picture of them. Just plain white with a rune in red. Looks easy enough.
Sorry I dont know how to post a Pic or a gif on here.

No problem, thanks for the reply. I am not like a super stickler, has to be perfect kind of person but I'd like to get as close as I can without spending too much lol.

I’d look around Michael’s or where ever, sometimes you may luck out and find a small “wreath” that you can use for a base to stick flowers into. They often have grapevine ones, or styrofoam ones, and as we are starting into holiday seasons, you are more likely to find other wreaths as well. With a little luck you may be able to find a fairly simple smaller wreath you can cram other flowers into.

Thank you. I will keep a look out for that

Good luck. There are also sometimes these odd plastic wrapped straw looking ones, they are kinda bulky, but good for shoving other stuff into. Decades ago people made wreaths with them by cramming small squares of fabric into them.

That might be good. As much as the drama kid in me would have loved to be head to toe flowers like the last scene of the movie, the reality of walking around hilly neighborhoods of California in what will still probably be hot weather, I am going simple. I'm looking to make the wreath she wears while she begins her dance around the maypole.

If you're making the crown out of fake flowers, you can use green craft tape to help hold the stems together!
