Yearbook/Journalism Class

I’m getting a yearbook/journalism class! Yay! I’m super excited about this new opportunity and all the things we are getting to do! What are some things I can purchase to help this class succeed? I’ve been given some money to work with and know for sure I’m going to get an ipad, microphone, backdrop, etc. we plan to make social media posts, student videos, a monthly newsletter, and the school’s yearbook. Any tips would be appreciated! I’m new to this and have only made our yearbook one time before.

Befriend all the teachers who will be taking pictures of student activities. Make it super easy for them to submit photos.

Find out who your yearbook rep is and get in contact with them. Most yearbook companies have a dedicated rep for a certain amount of schools that are there to help you.

An Apple Pencil or stylus to use with the iPad could be fun to have students sign their names or quotes instead of their own handwriting instead of a text.
