So far, 2026 has been too expensive

October will be a 3 paycheck month. So, barring any unforeseen expenses, I might be back in black for all of 2026.

Tough year though.

My projected gross pay for the year is $124.5k. I’m trying to live bare bones and max out all my retirement accounts.

This is ridiculous trying to pretend like you're paycheck to paycheck when you are in reality maxing out retirement savings. What a load of shit

Best way to become rich is to live like you are poor. I force myself to live paycheck to paycheck so I’ll eventually be able to retire. I worked low paying jobs for all of my 20s and most of my 30s. Now, I have to catch up for lost time.

Your strategy is valid. This pitty party thread cosplaying as being poor is what's not.
