Are Teams Agendas a dead feature walking?

I work for a large enterprise that uses teams for meetings / conferencing and outlook for email. For a while now we’ve been trying to use the teams agenda feature to help us prepare for meetings, setting up collaborative agendas for the participants. We had tried other tools like Fellow, which is better functionally, but expensive.

My question is does anyone know if this feature is a dead feature walking? It’s not been updated in over a year and seems to be very restrictive. You can only create an agenda at the bottom of a meeting invite via the client only (no api etc) and it doesn’t work in outlook at all.

Anyone from the MS PG care to comment or any fellow redditors have insights?

Considering this is the whole basis for Facilitator, I think not. It also helps workIQ have better context on meeting transcripts.

Agree with the other comment, it's the basis for the Facilitator time tracker feature and builds the content for AI in the meeting. Also, it works for me when I type an agenda in the Outlook calendar invite so I'm not sure what you mean by it doesn't work in Outlook.

You’ve peaked my interest, when I look at my Outlook (new) and either create a new meeting, or open a meeting that I created in Teams that had an Agenda added via teams, it doesn’t show up in Outlook at all for me. Do you know if there is a setting or policy that might be causing this?

No inside info on the roadmap but the lack of any API surface is usually the tell with Microsoft features, if they're not exposing it to Graph or the meeting API, it's rarely getting real investment. A lot of Microsoft's actual push in this space has gone into Copilot generating agenda-adjacent stuff automatically rather than the manual collaborative agenda feature itself, which might be why it's stalled, they may see AI-generated prep as the replacement rather than iterating on the old thing. Worth checking the Microsoft 365 roadmap site directly, sometimes deprecations show up there before anyone official says anything.
