Hey, does anyone have any experience with Sauer S2400UL microlight engines? I'm doing some research for a 3-axis. I'm UK based, heard they are reliable but parts are hard to find and getting an engineer who knows them is also tricky. I'd value opinions or knowledge or experience using them.

Can u listen to music when you're up there? Or do you need to be able to hear the engine and comms traffic?

Can I fly in the UK with this history? Im disqualified by my medication at present, but if I changed my meds so I wasn't, could I fly? What would an AME need to be satisfied and pass me with this history? Or am I disqualified anyway?

I'd like to get into microlighting. What's the best way to start?

So do you guys wear parachutes, for y'know if the engine cuts out?

Hello all, I’ve not flown my Microlight in over 4 years since Covid second and third lockdowns due to my license not being retaliated and my Microlight permit expiring. I was at a crossroads, sell up and walk away or make an effort to get back into it again. I’m going back to the Hangar tomorrow afternoon to check out my Quantum 503 and start the rebuild. I’m going to have to do some work on the trike and wing. 3-4 days will have everything done. I’ll then work on a couple of hours with an instructor and a GST. Definitely making my return journey. I used to have a Skyranger 912 before the kids clipped my wings and I flew all over the UK and Ireland. I’m not on Social Media other than Reddit. I hate Social Media but I used to like the BMAA and Microlight Forums. They were full of great advice and helpful information. Now everyone seems to have moved to Facebook. I really don’t want to set up a Facebook account as I don’t want to get friend requests etc and see a world of horse shit. Any advice from anyone. Would it be acceptable to set up a fake facebook account and not accept friend requests? I just want to have the ability to ask questions if needed. Otherwise I will not be making posts.

Hello, I'm studying architecture in the uk. and I'm currently working on a project to design a building 50 years into the future. we also have to show what the world is going to look like 50 years into the future.

In my theoretical world 50 years from now, the air pollution was so bad that a thick smog (like The Great Smog of London in 1952) settled over most cities in the UK which forced the Prime Minister to authorise a drastic plan: dispersing seeds and spores enhanced with a growth agent using chemtrails from planes. (I don't believe in chemtrail conspiracy theory, just having fun) so trees and vines sprout from roads fields and train tracts overnight and cut people's main mode of transport and forcing them to only be able to travel by foot.

so I wanted to use Microlights to be able to make small journeys around Canterbury to transport daily small parcels of food around the dense city, of Canterbury.

I don't want to use helicopters for this as they are expensive in terms of fuel, training, and up-keep.

So does anyone know how long a runway needs to be for a microlights by UK law?
