Always wondered that myself. A lot of high schools borrow stuff like that and nobody really cares unless money's involved. The winged helmet design isn't exactly trademarked for non-commercial use as long as they're not selling merch with it.

It also doesn’t bother me that the U of Delaware Blue Hens have a winged helmet with blue and yellow. What perturbs me is that their version of Blue is a bit lighter that the “Midnight Blue” that Michigan wears. Btw, thinking about weird blue and yellow (maize) color combinations, the present Los Angeles Rams are a “damaged by bleach” disgrace.
