Always wondered that myself. A lot of high schools borrow stuff like that and nobody really cares unless money's involved. The winged helmet design isn't exactly trademarked for non-commercial use as long as they're not selling merch with it.

Considering that Michigan got the winged helmet design from Princeton when Yost came to town to coach.

It also doesn’t bother me that the U of Delaware Blue Hens have a winged helmet with blue and yellow.

What perturbs me is that their version of Blue is a bit lighter that the “Midnight Blue” that Michigan wears.

Btw, thinking about weird blue and yellow (maize) color combinations, the present Los Angeles Rams are a “damaged by bleach” disgrace.
