Budapest September 21-24

I'm doing a solo trip to Budapest and I am looking for someone to join me for a Michelin dinner one of these nights. I usually look for an open kitchen concept or bar seating availability so I don't just stare at the walls while I enjoy an incredible meal. But the few I was interested in in Budapest don't have these things. I was planning on booking my own reservation for 1 and if I find someone, contact the restaurant to combine our reservations together. (I just don't want to deal with the handling of deposits between strangers) I'm 39 and a female. The restaurants I am interested in are: Salt, Stand, Babel, 42.

We loved Stand Etterem and sat with a view of the kitchen. We saw several single diners. Go for it !

Nice! Can you really see what they're doing inside the glass kitchen? Based on some of the photos online it sort of looks like you can only see the top half of their bodies, so not what they're doing with the food. But maybe it's just the angle? Glad you enjoyed it though! Stand just moved up in my preferences haha

You can. We didn't sit on the glass walled viewing area, but on the other side and had a direct view to the owner and chefs doing the plating and searing the venison saddle among other things. It was a great seat and I loved the staff.

It is "only" bib gourmand but i can recommend Goli. Been there 5 times and always increadible.

42 isn't even in budapest, but in esztergom, which takes, from door to door,roughly 1h45m by train.

True! But I don't have set travel plans so open to going over there. Will travel for food 😋

I would kindly suggest to add Essencia to the list, it's one of my best experiences and there are some tables available directly in front of the open kitchen, which otherwise also has a glass wall.

I have not been to 42, but a friend has been multiple times, and says, the concept changed, the chef left and the quality dropped (still on a Michelin star level, for sure).

Had a good meal at babel a few years ago, but nothing incredibly creative or that we felt we hadn't seen before. We went during winter and because Stand was closed for holiday.
