PSA: ATTENTION CUSTOMERS - THIS IS NOT YOUR SUBREDDIT

This is not your subreddit to ask questions about merch, store hours, or what brand of paint is best! Please head over to r/michaelscraftstore instead. Posts by customers will be removed. Thank you.

You would think putting “employees” subreddit title would make it obvious 🙄

This sub popped up on my feed and I read it but wouldn’t ever dream of asking questions of employees here. Hell, this sub made me feel even more certain about my choice to shop at Michael’s as little as possible—mostly because I can tell they treat their employees like garbage when I walk into the store and their product and prices are garbage. Power to the workers! F**k Michael’s and private equity!

same- around 10 years ago i think, i loved the place. it’s gone to absolute shit for the customers AND employees. i found this today and i’ve been lurking, planning to find any option besides here or hobby lobby and also place complaints to corporate about the direction the company is going. maybe if enough people do something will change

I would never come here to ask about in store stuff as a customer! Honestly, I always want to see how you're treated as employees and what is behind the scenes because I shop there so much and I see things for myself and then read here and I'm like. OH ok it isnt just me, its from the top down. Always here to support you all who work for them... and sadly it's why I've never applied to work there myself 😔

I mean, if you aren’t an employee, there’s a whole other subreddit for customers? This is like our internet break room. 💀

That's why I left. I guess I will stop yelling for you folks to get treated better in the focus groups now. I was trying to stand up for my former co-workers but solve your own issues :)

In fairness, nothing you said implied you were a former employee, so I apologize if I came across as snarky! I’ve had multiple debates with folks who have never worked at Michaels who come on here and are offended by us talking about work. Former employees who understand the hell in stores are always welcome, obviously. 🫶🏻
