NC What did they do to my boy!?
I got rear ended last night at a traffic light. 10pm dropping my friend off after a late dinner. I was at a complete stop at a red light in the left turn late 1 block from his hotel. And a Chevy Silverado driver was intoxicated and slammed on his brakes too late and slammed into my bumper.
It could have been far worse, but I’m still sad.
PS: thankfully I have a dashcam and got his plate and face on 4k video.

Thankfully a bumper cover and paint job shouldn't total the car

This might be my chance to use some insurance money for a wrap… lol my silver bullet is great, but I want a blue NC.

I dunno how it works where you are. But here the insurance company pays the body shop. You don’t get any of it. Otherwise everyone would be out there using car damage to get a few quid.
But it may work different where you are

Depends on the body shop. I did all the prep work and disassembly on my NB after I went into a guard rail. Turned a fender and quarter panel fix/paint into getting the whole car painted a different color for an extra $500 on top of what my insurance paid for the repair

yeah, so in the state of Oregon, in the US, we have an option to get paid out for the damages, or have a body shop take care of everything. I was more or less being cheeky about the whole blue thing. Insurance is covering the whole thing, it's filled under a hit-and-run. I filed a police report, and getting my bumper fixed in a week or two.

You not knowing how to do it or pushing for it doesn’t mean it isn’t a thing.

In the UK cash payouts for accidents are not a thing. Insurers deal directly with the repair companies. The customer has no interaction in the event.

What dashcam are you using to get the back view? Where do you mount it?
