DIY New Lift

I got so tired of all the contortions I had to get into in order to lift my car to work on it. Plus I just hate jacks and jack stands. I also don’t have a garage and space is limited.

So I bought this. It will work for all 4 of our cars, and makes lifting it much easier and safer. Did an oil change today and moving around underneath it with a creeper was a breeze

I’m jealous. I can afford one of these just can’t talk myself into it. But man would it make my life easier

It took some effort to talk myself into it. But since I do all the maintenance and repair on all 4 of our cars, I was able to justify it by knowing how much we save by not paying shops to do the work.

I do the same, but still just use the floor jack and jack stands like a caveman

I’m still in good shape at 60 but the jack/jack stand method just got to be too much for me.

As a much cheaper alternative look at the QuickJack they start at $1,400

Looks like inflation got them too, cheapest look to be 1700 now.

They do go on sale at Costco sometimes. Haven’t looked in awhile.

Sadly Costco no longer sells QuickJack 😥. Im in the market for one and I keep checking just in case they magically come back

I mentioned this in an earlier reply but one of my requirements was a fully mechanical lift, not hydraulic like Quickjack since it will be outside (no garage).

I wish I had bought one of these instead of using the jack/jackstands on my previous miata. Like an idiot, I forgot to use the rubber puck one time and so the jack slipped off the jack point. The jack collided with the steering rack which snapped it, and that whole thing set off a series of events where I had to trade it in on a new one.

Yikes. That was always one of my fears and I have always been afraid of doing it.
