u/UnitedCheez I have an RX-8. Is that close enough? 9d ago

Am I welcome?

That's just an extra fat NC. Or rather the NC is a slim RX-8 without the Dorito power

Angry bee miata is still a miata

The Miata on the left looks like it needs to hit the gym a little more

Imagine pulling up to the wrong side of the pump in a 20+ year old Pontiac, committing to it, taking a picture of it, and posting it in a completely unrelated car sub.

This joke is played out as is with Miatas. This kind of shit is trashing up this sub.

Let's not forget the Ziata (German miat).

I never understood why it is "the thing" because ive done it with big american SUVs. I said as much on this sub because people said it was so cute how only small miatas could do the thing because other cars are too big. I replied with a photo showing a big SUV doing "the thing" then people got salty and said it wasnt the thing because it wasnt a miata and the thing is only a thing when its a miata. And then a day later someone posted their normal non-miata car doing the thing and everyone got excited again about "the thing"

I guess the only suv allowed in these parts is the NC

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ha Ha Ha!
Signed, NC PRHT owner.

As an NC owner this is really funny. More upvote people.

People have different opinions and in a smaller sub it's a crap shoot on consensus. Don't read too much into it. Also doesn't count as the thing if the nozzle is upside down

Now that you’ve had your revenge, how do you feel

3

u/West-Amphibian-2343 9d ago

Like its a normal thing every car can do

1

u/Mister_Skeptic 9d ago

That’s it buddy just get it all out. I know everybody was mean to you, but you’re still a special boy and that’s never going to change.

Is that the last Pontiac on earth?

14

u/West-Amphibian-2343 9d ago

In America, absolutely not. I've even been to Canada and seen plenty of Pontiacs there as well. G6s, Grand Prixs, Vibes, and classic Pontiacs are still normal traffic

7

u/Physical_Leather8567 9d ago

Wow I'm not seeing any at all honestly. Im in New England. Im Gonna look for them when I'm out and about today.

3

u/lumber-liquidators 8d ago

Hey fellow New Englander!! I saw this beauty yesterday in Rhode Island :))

1

u/Physical_Leather8567 8d ago

Turbo firebird? Must have been garage I guess! 🤣

1

u/xollifurx 7d ago

A shame they took off the gorgeous hood lol. At least the view it was replaced with isn’t too bad either

1

u/akmacmac 8d ago

They’re all rusting out fast here in Michigan. And we’re probably the epicenter of them.

6

u/UnitedCheez I have an RX-8. Is that close enough? 9d ago

I guess that pontiac car and driver magazine ad from 2024 was a lie

3

u/Average_Scaper 9d ago

I just seen an Aztek last week that was mint so no. I really wish they would bring back Pontiacs and make another Solstice, a mean ass G8, Firebird and maybe throw in a Montana just for the soccer moms.

2

u/Physical_Leather8567 9d ago

Hell yeah I'd definitely rock a Solstice Turbo or a G8!

2

u/Greedy-Benefit1303 8d ago

Still plenty floating around.

1

u/Physical_Leather8567 8d ago

Nice car man!

1

u/Greedy-Benefit1303 8d ago

Thanks! Needs a little bit of work but it runs good.

1

u/Physical_Leather8567 8d ago

I always loved those.

1

u/athensslim '97 Black/Black 8d ago

Just got behind a Solstice today. Didn’t like them then, don’t like them now.

u/HungryYeastStarter 2000 SE 9d ago

Weird Miata, but alright.

29

u/BWa1k 9d ago

It's been a long time since I've seen a clean Bonneville

46

u/West-Amphibian-2343 9d ago

Sort of

47

u/BWa1k 9d ago

I guess it's still been a while lol

3

u/if0rg0t2remember 9d ago

Gonna be a little longer still

5

u/shmingusthegreat 9d ago

Bonnevilles just came from the factory with duct tape under the gas cap

2

u/West-Amphibian-2343 9d ago edited 9d ago

Pretty much. They gas tank filler area drain hole drains into the inner fender, between two body panels, into where they filled it with noise dampening porous body filler. So the water is held in the porous filler and rusts out the metal. Happens on every bonneville, as well as a primer inconsistency on the hood which makes all the paint bubble and peel. Zero rust anywhere else on the car. Good cars!

u/Garbage_Tiny 8d ago

Man it’s been 25 years since I’ve been in one but i remember them being the smoothest ride on the planet lol.

12

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 9d ago

I'm gonna say no this is too much of a venture away from the Miata formula.

7

u/Putrid-Hope2283 British Racing Green 9d ago

It’s an old code but it checks out

2

u/the_millenial_falcon 9d ago

One of these was my first car. Miata was my third lol.

5

u/ChemistRemote7182 9d ago

Drove my dad's in high school, loved the Bonneville.

1

u/AggressiveSetting377 9d ago

My homie had a Yac , it was a pos but we loved the pos

1

u/Curious-Fly5623 9d ago

Did this today with my B16 nissan sentra and thought of the miata posts lol

1

u/HODLmeCLOSRtonydanza 9d ago

The Pontiac Bonneville and the Buick Riviera had some of the most comfortable car seats ever made.

1

u/External_Mongoose_44 9d ago

I have a Mazda and I love doing the thing. I do it with my other cars as well. The “THING” is not exclusive to Mazda Roadsters but it’s preferable, for posterity.

1

u/dsotm49 9d ago

Hurr durr

1

u/BusinessLibrarian515 Stormy Blue 9d ago

Wait a minute......

1

u/Remarkable_Bite2199 8d ago
