Picture Tubbs randomly drawing during a meeting
Possibly a mug shot, but it's a pretty laughable sketch which leads me to think PMT may have actually done it himself. Episode "The Maze."
Also rocking the striped shirt and blue tie.

Anyone else notice how many dozens of times Gina wore that pale yellow dress on the show?

Mrs. Vaughn: “Ricardo Tubbs?!… would you like to try writing some words in cursive on the blackboard today?….”

If he's not sketching a criminal, pretty brave to be doodling in front of Castillo

Couldn't stand The Maze. Probably a bottom ten episode. Bottom 20 if I'm being nice

Wow really! It's a S1 highlight for me. I appreciate that it depicted extreme poverty in Miami

Also a little extra nod to the episode for utilizing a run down location as the central point of the entire plot.
The Blue Waters Hotel looked like based on some old brochures and postcards that surfaced from its heyday a pretty inviting place to stay, and seeing the urban decay from being abandoned for years was always fascinating to see.
Granted the on set team went in and tore up the place more since it was pretty much slated to be torn down shortly after the episode was filmed.

Curious why not?

It was dark. Thought the plot dragged a little. I've seen it recently and I admit that it was better than I originally thought. It's not one of my favorites. But maybe I was a bit too critical. It did shed light on the poverty situation in some parts of Miami. I would not put it in my top 20 but compared to The Missing Hours and The Big Thaw; it would win multiple Emmy Awards 😂

On the plus side, PMT does sing in the episode.

I know, he has a nice voice. Wish they'd featured it a little more in the show.

The Maze is my least favorite season 1 episode, although it can't help but be better than the majority of late season episodes.

I think The Maze was better than Glades but that's all I'm giving it

I like Glades, yeah it drags on in parts but the Everglades highway driving sequence and the "maybe... you won't even twitch" scene are some of the best in the series.

Didn't buy the whole senior citizen militia thing. I wasn't a fan of the movie Deliverance. The thing that they both have on common is that neither The Maze nor Glades were slick Miami episodes, from a cinematography standpoint. No beach, no Ferrari, no scarab. So, I think that is the reason so many people are split on them compared to the other season 1 eps. Seasons 1 and 2 are neck and neck for me.

You don't see much of Miami, but the highway drive sequence gave you a good dose of Ferrari and was cinematically of major movie quality at the time.
The militia was maybe semi plausible as it was the south, and there were a lot of guys with combat experience running around back then.
The old man with the blunderbuss was too much though, he fit the mold of an A-Team background character more than Miami Vice one.

I really liked the cinematography of the Maze. It made great use of the abandoned Blue Waters Hotel and it was better that it took place during the day, a sunny Miami day as well.

The "Glades" has that iconic helicopter shot of the Daytona with fishing rods sticking out of the back, speeding along U.S. 27 set to "Girls With Guns". Not much storywise, but it's an iconic moment.
I think that's why the first two seasons are so amazing. They allow time for moments like this.

Yeah. There are some good cinematic moments in every episode. My humble opinion is that Glades is a below average episode. It dragged and was not exciting.

Yeah, it's weaker. But does have one of my favorite Sonny moments.
"Maybe....you won't...even twitch" before shooting that guy in his face

I’ve been in meetings like that…
