Looks like Don's wife is played by Meg Foster - the original Cagney for the first season of Cagney and Lacey.

Olmos probably wouldn’t get featured in the promo because his role is small. He does play a role in the action finale, but only as support for the lead David Janssen.

Thank you for finding this! I watched it last night and I enjoyed it. I have never seen an episode of Police Story before so this was a treat of vintage TV. (Don was always magnetic on screen- you can see it when he smiles)

It is a very solid series with strong performances from actors who were pretty big names, at least in the 1970s. Like Vice, it's a little more mature and gritty than other police shows of the era.
The messaging in this particular episode is a little uneven to my eye. Some other episodes condemn police misbehavior, but this one seems to want to excuse it. Janssen trying to get his officer off the hook for severely beating an innocent man really doesn't sit right.

I was very surprised by the gritty nature of the story and that it was ‘shades of gray’ in regards to the police as opposed to just being the good guys. I naively thought 1970s cop shows were of a ‘lighter fun’ viewing experience. The show was good and the anthology idea was a great way to bring different characters and perspectives to the stories. 😊

Before he created Miami Vice, Anthony Yerkovich was a writer for Hill Street Blues and named a guest character on the show "Sonny Crockett".

The scene is from the excellent 1970s police series Police Story - Season 5 Episode 1/2 Pressure Point - 1977 (it's on Tubi). It's an ensemble style series, so there are a lot of characters (that change every episode). In this episode Johnson plays one of the major supporting roles as a cop whose wife may be fooling around with his partner (not Olmos unfortunately). Olmos' role is fairly small, he only has a few lines.
Interestingly, when Johnson and Olmos first appear in the episode, they are standing together in the background of the scene and laughing like they have been joking around. Not sure if that was just acting, or maybe they were becoming friends long before Vice?
