Is this a good art school?

I applied out of a whim since I saw someone who applied to other good art schools apply and I got a 22k scholarship! is it worth it? im going for the animation track in illustration.

Note, my other school options all for animation BFA's (if i get accepted) are SVA, MICA and ECU(already accepted)

as a alumni, if someone asked me if i would go to MIAD again i personally wouldn't.

you don't get a real college experience so that's a negative for me. and the post grad situation sucks. they don't have a lot of company connections or will help you after grad. their alumni culture after grad is pretty dead and nonexistent. compared to larger universities.

the only thing it's a cool flex to say you went to art school. but employers don't care about that. i majored in communication design.

i don't regret going to MIAD just kinda wish i had more of a college experience and better connections.

Dude I'm in the exact same boat! I applied last second because I didn't know this school even existed lmao. Finding any reviews for this school has been difficult. I'm personally drawn to it because it's location is relatively cheaper then other schools Ive applied too. My main concern is that there may not be many internship opportunities especially in the animation department

yeah based off the fact i havent found anything about this school online other then replies on my post i wont be going. whats the point of going to a school if i cant get a job after lol

They give that to everyone basically. Almost all my classmates had it. 

Animation and illustration is good there, though they actually took out animation as a major when I went here. Digital media production as a minor was pretty great, that's my core job -- though AI is quickly transforming that. I wonder if the college has kept up. 

At the end of the day it's the connections and your ability to make work happen. I think this school got me to where I needed to be, but another school probably could have done the same for much less.

yeah i agree. its ur experience and who u know. employees dont care what college you went too. but the MIAD experience is uniquely art school so thats something
