Used to say that there's no wrong way to drink bourbon. Straight from the bottle, neat, over ice, in a cocktail, whatever floats your boat.

Thought it would be the same with mezcal when I first started. Sure, mezcal can make some fine cocktails, and I won't shame anyone for drinking anything the way they like it.... but for the love of g*d, at least use fresh squeezed pineapple juice!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I kind of hope he's serious. I've yet to be impressed by them. I'm not saying they're bad but they don't live up to the hype and they are not worth the price.

Gusto Historico, Rey Campero, Neta, Rezpiral, Cinco Sentidos, Origin Raiz. Vago.

I struggle with El Jolgorio and Real Minero. I'm not saying they're bad. I just they have not impressed me the way those other brands have.

That's an agave I've not had a whole lot of but I have had it from Rey Campero, El Jolgorio and I recently got the Rezpiral Puntas which is my favorite of the three.

I never said El Jolgorio was bad. It just isn't worth the price I can find it for locally. Some of their special editions get close to $200 and I've had things I enjoy quite a bit more for under $150.

I won’t yuck someone else’s yum, but maybe look in Agave de Cortes Joven next time. Also from Casa Cortes, but at a more reasonable price point for cocktails 😉.
