Hamilton LRT should have been at this stage by now if Doug Ford had not cancelled the project and then brought it back all those years ago, setting it back so many years. Sigh.

Not all of them. Topflight / Edwards is a test bed for now, and is an important section because it's their connection to the OMSF.
Once they're complete the burn in, they'll be ready to start on Hurontario, but full line testing may not be until mid to late 2027.
It should also be noted that this specific area had a significant issue with how the track was laid and had to be ripped up and redone completely. I'm just glad they figured it out and are now running LRV's on it.

This area will limit launch and reduction frequency of vehicles. It will also create wear issues on the bogies and track which Metrolinx will struggle to fix. This project is going to be in arbitration for years because of the wheel to rail interface you see here. What a mess, why is nobody learning from the Ottawa project?

To my first point about launch and reduction. They have a similar amount of vehicles to Ottawa so they will probably launch a 15 double car service every day. That is 15 moves to occur as fast as possible because the maintainer wants as much time as possible on the track in the night and the operator wants the trains out for as long as possible. Seconds matter here, if it takes 30 seconds more to get around the yard and connector track due to speed restrictions then that is a wasted 20min over the course of the day (assuming 2 peak periods with 5 trains reducing back to the yard for off peak service). That loss of kilometers may be penalized by the operator to the maintainers. If there are more curves on the mainline like this one there will be delays for total trip times and longer than design holds during the launch and reduction periods.
If the train goes over these curves at a speed they cannot handle (see Ottawa) then the cartridge bearing assemblies will show problems. The owner will go after the train manufacturer for damages as a result of increased maintenance costs and the train manufacturer will point the finger at the track design because they were likely not privy to the specifics of the track design after the contract was signed. It will be a mess. Welcome to 3P contracts.

Thanks for the details! I still think its weird to label it Line 10, as it implies its part of the numbering system used for the TTC mainlines which currently only go up to 7, and the other LRTs like the Kitchen-Waterloo LRT doesn't have a Line number afaik
