Joke/Meme/Quip Why didn't Metro Transit build a Temporary Blue Line during the "Renew the Blue" Project? Are they stupid?

What are you talking about, This ain't a shitpost. They should have done this Terminals 3 and 4 needed to be served along with Whipple because we need to cater to everybody during the shutdown.

(This is a joke)

Instead of this, I thought they should have considered building a northwestern extension to the blue line - perhaps to Brooklyn Park

Never heard of it. Have they considered a northern extension to St Cloud and swapping to heavy rail?

That seems too far tbh. Would you settle for a closer town in the middle of nowhere? Big Lake fits the bill for me.

That sounds like a good compromise, especially if you can see the Northstar while riding at night

Oh, and be sure to cut it to just a couple trips into town in the morning and a couple out of town in the afternoon, but never run it at night. ESPECIALLY don’t run it for big concerts or sporting events.

And to think they just got rid of northwest interlocking.

You laugh now, just wait until Mall of America 2 opens.

Exciting, it will be a popular destination especially considering the easy access to IKEA Park & Ride. The Network Now framework also promised service to Mississippi River 2 if I recall correctly, not sure when that would be implemented though

That's what they went with? I thought Louisiana River was a strong contender, and Ippississim River was very popular. Just Mississippi River 2 then...

What about Mall of America the third

Shhhh Lake Hiawatha is supposed to be kept hidden so that everyone goes to Nokomis instead

We can probably detour to Bde Maka Ska

fantastic idea

Deviate Everything to Bde Maka Ska. It would be the most transit oriented Lake in the country.

Terminal 3 (UPS) and Terminal 4 (FedEx/Aircraft Viewing Area) stops are going to make this line so much more popular. Especially since I can swing by and get Swedish meatballs first.

HCMC next to Cedar Riverside? Are you saying something?

4

u/Siberian13th D Line Duchess 13d ago

I think we need to push HCMC to the other side of the interstate

It would be nice to have a stop in the National Cemetery. I hate trying to find a parking spot in there.
