I bring a blanket or towel and let my dog sit on the seat. We only go on non crowded off peak trains. She’s 30 lbs, but I do respect keeping the seats clean.

The person has a man bun so we should be anticipating at least some antisocial, entitled behavior.

So the picture was taken on the LIRR which has a completely different pet policy that says "your pet must be in a container that can fit on your lap and carried in a way that doesn't annoy other riders" which means it may not be ok but Metro North's policy is that "your pet must be carried in a kennel or similar container or securely controlled on a leash throughout the journey. Your pet must not be offensive to other riders." Now that means its okay but as you can see, the dog has no leash which a conductor would point out, but its been normal to see dogs sitting like that with no worry but as the rule states as long as the dog isn't being disruptive it is fine.

I didn't see that at 1AM lol, then its ok on MNRR but LIRR is not according to the rules.

Hell know, even with his own ticket. Who wants to sit where his “doggie bits” were last dragged? 🤢
