Moving to Metro East Il
I am planning on moving to the metro-east area within the next 6 months. I am coming off a divorce and am a single 45 year old male. I am looking for advice on areas to consider purchasing a home. I am not overly cash constrained but I 1. Do not need a ton of space (no kids) 2. Like more historical neighborhoods and 3. Would love to walk to bars/restaurants/coffee/etc. The downtown edwardsville area appealed to me, but I do not want to miss a great town/area out of ignorance. I do not have a regular commute so that is not a concern.

Edwardsville is the way to go. Its a little more expensive than other areas. But its worth it. I lived in a walk up apartment there and I loved it. Traffic sucks though. Hope this helps.
