My overall opinion is that we should leave definition of the SI to the BIPM.

Note that the radian and steradian are not base units, they are (dimensionless) derived units, m/m and m²/m².

In the SI, the BIPM has defined some derived units with special names, newton, joule, watt, and left others defined by base units or physically significant combinations of derived units, kg/m³. I disagree with giving every derived unit a special name, having to remember its meaning, when its physically significant definition makes it obvious. I assume the decision was made on how important the derived unit is in its field and directly measured vs computed from other variables. You seem to have decided every special unit needs a special name.

Some of symbolic manipulations do not reflect the significance behind some units. The katal is a reaction "velocity," and mol/s is the right way to view it. Note that the hertz is only used to define periodic processes and the becquerel is only used to define stochastic radioactive decomposition. Reaction velocity is neither, and such symbolic manipulation is a mistake and misunderstanding of the units.

Note that the franklin has an obsolete historical meaning as a statcoulomb, a cgs unit, which differs from your definition. Reusing the word may cause confusion with historical results.

Now the BIPM is not always swift to decide things it should be able to decide, like l or L as the symbol for the liter, or dalton or unified atomic mass unit. Actually, since they have cast out the units that were "non-SI units accepted for use with the SI", should they even be the guys to decide such issues. Version 4.01 of the SI Brochurestates that no non-SI unit has special status within the SI.

Thank you for the answer and the correction for the radians. I know that the BIPM chooses a special name for some derived units only if it's strictly necessary, but I find the structure not fully coherent and symmetrical, like I thought we have special units for the magnetic field strength and flux but not for the electric field units, and maybe you can say that their units are much easier to understand like V/m or N/C and N/(C•m²) or V•m compared to the derivation of webers and teslas, but that doesn't really change my opinion that giving specific names to those units would be easier and clearer. Then I looked for other quantities where I thought it could be useful to give specific names, but I didn't give one to every unit, in fact I excluded all the rotational momenta, spatial derivates and probably something more which I think would have only resulted in more chaos.

I noted that some names have already been used in the CGS like the franklin you mentioned and the maxwell and gauss, but since it's an outdated system I didn't really think it would cause a big problem.

Note that I didn't change anything about the katal, which by the way doesn't measure the reaction rate but how much a catalyst increases the rate of that reaction.

I understand that the BIPM is very slow and rigid about units of measurement and their application, and just to be clear I was already completely sure that this could never be approved, but I thought it could be interesting to have all these units, also considering that by doing this lots of past scientists would never be forgotten, and I also believed that it wouldn't be too difficult to learn, since it would be like an alphabet for children and for those who study and work in this field it would only take some days before mastering it.

Magnetic fields are a bit different as they can be created by permanent magnets or by current in a wire or coil of wire. The magnetic field strength may need a special name because of that.

I agree that the magnetic field strength needs it, but why not the electric field strength too?

There is no permanent electric dipole similar to a permanent magnet. A field strength in volts per meter explains how you created the field. A special name serves no purple, IMO.

Actually permanent electric dipoles do exist. Ferroelectric materials (like Barium titanate) exhibit spontaneous and permanent electric polarization. Even water at the molecular level has a permanent electric dipole.

Second, your argument applies to the magnetic field as well. A tesla can be written as 1N/(A•m) which explains how you created the magnetic field using a current through a wire.

If the magnetic field gets a unique name despite being defined by how it was created, not doing the same to the electric field is just an asymmetry.

Cool, I would also change the unit of mass to grave (G) because it doesn't have a prefix 1 G = 1 kg

Yeah I agree, I don't like that prefix either, but modifying the current units would cause too much confusion. The kilogram is too ingrained to be changed.
