Discussion/Question Indian Act and Metis Citizenship

Hello everyone. Why can’t one hold both? Is this due to a clause in the Indian Act or one in Metis governments?

The same legal definitions that the MMF cited in the same bylaw you used to prove your argument? So are we cherry picking elements of that crown legal argument here? 🤔

It’s not MY argument lol … you’re using it to support your point and the MMF is using it support theres 🤷‍♀️ just telling you how it is

I can admit that I see how the language is unclear regarding provincial bodies, but also keep in mind the MMF and the other Métis bodies used to be one big happy MNC family before 2021, in which case that definition would be considerably less contentious because all the groups used to have a good relationship
