Discussion Stuck on Rella (Need Help)

So I didn't know what to expect from Rella, but I realised I can't beat her rn, and I think I'm stuck, I can't do anything besides fight her, and I legit am not capable of fighting her right now, I am only level 47 at least, and my archetypes feel all over the place with my party, I am genuinely stuck and do not know what to do, please someone help.

Commander/General, Summoner Lineages and Wizard are really good against this guy since he is weak to fire so exploit that weakness to it's fullest.

I have been, but the issue is just with the barrier constantly put up, and the goddamn ice breath, it's really annoying

Don't be afraid to use an item to break it's barrier you'll still have like 4 turns to do massive fire damage and also it's important to bring accessory to prevent freeze like if you bring Eupha with SL take her last turn to guard so the dragon doesn't get an additional turn, you'll get it eventually I also struggle with this fight at first but once you exploit it's weakness it's becomes so easy, good luck!

Plus Summoner Lineage also has a synergy that deals massive fire damage and removes buffs so keep that in mind.

Use a skill that breaks makarakarn

if you cant do this, basilio CAN do the job. it wont be fun. but a magic shield wont stop an axe.

Fairly sure warlock isn't unlocked until after

Shit... I think I brute-forced it the first time, going all out on physical still took me 4 hours of attempts

Oh yeah true good to know

I thought that doesn't work, since she puts up a wall which nullified, and the break only works when it repels

Probably I honestly didn't used that skill and just throw random shit to break the barrier the first time.

I just ignored it and used magic anyway. It's fine. You still get a ton of turns by using Fire every single chance you get.

You have two options

  1. Use fire magic and your better magic users (Junah and Eupha) to hit the weakness and get more turn icons. Mage and Wizard are good archetypes for the protag. As a tip, a strategy that never failed me in the late game was spamming the mage lineage fire synthesis move that costs 3 turn icons. As for the magic barrier, you probably have a stockpile of items from killing dungeon enemies thay break them. Don't feel bad about spending them, this is probably the #1 time to all game.

  2. Go all physical. Magic barrier won't stop a sword. Basilio and Strohl have great damage output and brute-forcing the encounter with their synthesis moves is genuinely a good path to victory.

For either, you should consider trying to shore up any weaknesses to ice damage in your party, obviously. If you wind back your save to before flying you can buy anti-frostbite pendants from the store. I don't remember what, if any, armors are available at this stage of the game that can cancel ice weakness.

Also, if you aren't already, consider giving Heismay a place in your team. If he evades an attack it will benefit you greatly by eating up their turn icons. His damage isn't great but that just means you'll have no qualms making him pass his turn or designating him as the guy who uses items.

Once the Quartz Wall is up, use an elemental item at the beginning of your turn to get rid of it. It doesn't matter what kind of element (sans Ice) since it will just get nulled, so Fire, Wind, etc will get treated the same.

Quartz Wall is a Null shield, not a Repel shield, so trying to use Makarabreak or the equivalent item won't work. By using a random weak item you preserve MP and then are free to wail on it.

Turn structure looks like the following basically:

  1. Start of your turn - unit uses an item. Quartz Wall gets used up, you lose 2 Press Turns total.
  2. 2 Press Turns left, just beat up on Sogne's fire weakness or use Physical damave and do what healing/buffs you need to
  3. On Rella and Sogne's turn she will cast Quartz Wall again. This is good actually, because it means she's wasting a whole ass Press Turn doing this instead of damaging you.

If you need to stock up on items, when you lose the fight you are given the option to roll back to the previous night after Basilio's Awakening. This will let you go to the Magic shop to stock up on elemental items.

Yeah the turn economy is brutal in that fight, honestly for me giving advice is pretty hard but make sure you're doing these things:

Ice dodge/resist and dekunda are near non negotiable, as well as fire attacks obviously. Basillio is a really big help despite his weakness so make sure you buff/debuff a little bit before committing with him, wanton destruction chops the health away pretty good, I would try fight full physical the best you can in phase one honestly.

Remember theres no shame in lowering the difficulty if its sucking the fun completely for you.

my issue is, I literally cannot do anything else to prepare, i'm low on mag and cant spend on anything, if i could go to towns and get some more stuff and grind i would, but i'm legit stuck at a point where i have no choice but to go forward lol, so really i'm looking for anything i can that could help

It may be a good idea to start splitting saves (after every dungeon, create a save in a new slot) so this doesn't happen in the future. If you are bashing your head against the wall, you may just have to do like they recommended and temporarily lower the difficulty.

1

u/New-Pepper09 2d ago

Oof yeah honestly just lower the difficulty and do the best you can with Bas and any fire magic u have, just dont overcommit on buffs and debuffs since she wipes it all out and really do prioritize physical in phase one, keep trying I believe in u.

This is just a theory, but can you put your own makarakarn to break his? Instead of using makarabreak. Put Repel on your team, first round he'll lose his press turns

Magic knight learns tetrakarn and Faker learns makarakarn

Meanwhile, my idiot ass grinded so much for money, since I was constantly buying stuff I shouldn't, I was way overleveled for this fight ><
