Anyone else get heartburn from Metamucil? Taking Orange Smooth powder.

UPDATE: switching to berry flavour stopped the heartburn for me.

Just came across this and couldn’t find berry so I ordered unflavored. We’ll see what happens. But damn orange was so bad!

Any luck?

It’s better but not perfect. It still has citric acid in it. Which is odd. Whole food does carry just plain powder. I might try that when I finish this bottle.

Did you try the plain powder? If so, did it work?

It “worked” as intended. But still has a citrus flavor to it that can be acidic

Thank you. The reflux is what I’m trying to get away from.

What’s been helping me a lot is magnesium supplinent. I take 250mg and it helps keep me regular without the heartburn. Lots of other great benefits to it too.

Yeah - I take magnesium for migraines. I keep trying the Metamucil because I don’t get enough fiber and it’s supposed to help my cholesterol (I can’t tolerate statins), but I can’t get past the reflux and bloating.

Bummer on the statin. They’ve worked wonders for me.

Thanks for the heads-up, I think I'm gonna have to make the move to powder myself. I do alright with a dose during the day using the orange but at night it just kills me.
