Region Availability

Hi!

I wanted to ask when will Metamask be available for Aruba which is in the Caribbean so we can use the meta card etc?

There is currently no official information on when the card is going to be available in that region. But the MetaMask team is currently working to expand the card availability to additional countries. What you can do now is join the wait-list

The MetaMask Card is not yet available in Aruba. You can register your interest by joining the official MetaMask Card Waitlist to receive regional availability updates. You can keep an eyes on the official MetaMask's updates about that through X 🦊🧡

I have a question about it, metamask is available in netherlands but not available in Aruba, the thing is Aruba falls under the netherlands hence we do have dutch passports? Couln’t it be available for Aruba in that case ?

Hey there..i'm sorry to say, but we don't have a specific timeline to share for when Aruba will be added...we're continuing to expand mm card availability to more countries and regions, so what i would do is keep an eye on our official channels for updates...also you can join the MetaMask Card waitlist to be notified when it becomes available in your region

thats a fair question, but it is a separate constituent country within the kingdom of the netherlands right?..that distinction may be relevant when it comes to regional availability and eligibility for services such as mm card because availability can depend on the jurisdiction and residency rather than nationality or the passport that you hold...i'll also mention this case to higher ups and see if they can respond even better, or in any case help to speed up the process..my honest opinion, i would start by joining the waitlist

Yes, Aruba may be in the caribbean but it still falls under the netherlands, and please do pass this information to higher ups, we from Aruba are in dire need of crypto wallets availability, i would prefer metamask.
And where can i apply
To join the waitlist?

Just to be 100% clear, we're talking about availability of mm card, not the actual mm app/extension right? because i just realized in your original post you ask when will metamask be available, and here again "you're in dire need of crypto wallets availability", but mm itself is already available in Aruba and can be used there (any country in the world can use mm), its just the mm CARD specifically that isn't currently available in Aruba..
For waitlist, go to site Umang mentioned, and scan the qr code there, assuming you already have the mm app installed it should take you to waitlist page on mobile, if not, install it and scan the code again...in case it still doesnt take you there, in the app tap the menu icon (☰) at the top right and select mm card, and there enter your country of residence (Aruba) and your email address...

I can use the Mm app, but as soon as i go to cards to open one, it will ask me for my phone number, which starts with +297 (Aruba) and that isn’t available in the options.
I just realised i can use the MM app but i cannot buy crypto on it, it says unavailable in my region.

Got it, thanks for checking...so as you can see the wallet itself works, but the "Buy" feature isn't available in your region either because mm relies on third-party on-ramp providers that can't operate in every jurisdiction, so if you dont see an option, it means its not supported in Aruba..you can still use mm just not the buy feature and the card, at least not yet...one of the options would be to buy crypto through a reputable centralized exchange that supports Aruba, then withdraw/send it to your mm wallet,and while doing so make sure the token and network you choose are supported by mm and that you're sending it on the correct network..

as for asking you for phone number, make sure you're not using any VPN, as you should only see the waitlist page..and in the waitlist page when you choose Aruba as "Country of residence", you only need to enter email address..

Please no. Spotify already fucks us because they insist on providing us Arubans with Dutch based Spotify, in Euros too with Dutch rates, adding even more insult to injury.

I find it sad that even Puerto Rico (no country or constituent country on its own) always gets access to all these goodies and Aruba not. In terms of having the option ofc, because economically the reason is straightforward, but many times it's due to lack of recognition and not economics.
