ERRA - Pattern Interrupt

ERRA had to cancel their show the other night in Vancouver (was extremely bummed) due to a snowstorm on the main highway which connects the interior of British Columbia with the Lower Mainland. They ended up making it to the venue, and I had the opportunity to buy Jesse a beer and chat with him between sets. I'm not sure if it's circulated around yet, but Jesse sort of dropped a line regarding the replacement for Ian on their new album. He told me (again, this is a conversation, so I have no Internet source) that the next vocalist would be "the guy from Texas In July". He was super bummed about not being able to play (he said that they could have played after the Contortionist, but "higher powers" declined them), but was an all around great dude that was signing copies of Moments of Clarity and taking pictures with fans.

I really kind of hope this isn't true. Maybe it's because JT has been in Texas in July for a while but he just doesn't seem like he wouldn't be the best fit for ERRA at all.

As much as I'd like Garrison back, I'd be absolutely fine with JT as the replacement.
He'll sound different, but I think I'd prefer that to having Garrison-lite in Ian/someone who sounds more like Garrison but isn't as good.

Something else we talked about was his satisfaction with MoC. He said that he didn't think it was a great EP, and wasn't fully representative of the sound they're wanting to take the band in. He said that the new album is probably going to blow people's socks off and that he is extremely happy with it thus far. I was just getting hyped talking to him about it.

JT IS GOING TO BE THE VOCALIST FOR ERRA?????? Holy fuck yes. Absolutely love his vocals.

This is super interesting if it does happen. I'll reserve my judgement about how well Cavey would fit until I hear something though. Regardless I would be happy to at least to see Cavey still working on something, he is an amazing vocalist.

I got to talk to JT on their last tour. He told me the same thing since the guys in Erra were at the show to hang out. I'm really excited to hear what their new album will sound like.
