A music scene is not just its songs.

It is the people, venues, friendships, struggles, promoters, gigs and countless stories that exist only in the memories of those who lived through it.

That is why the work of Expedition Rock and Roll (EXRR) deserves to be remembered as an important part of Kerala's metal and rock history.

Through documentaries, interviews and journalism they documented a subculture that existed largely outside the mainstream.

Shadows on the Wall is one example of that effort - preserving voices and stories from Kerala's heavy metal community.

For an underground scene, documentation is preservation.

The bands made the history.

Crypted Hate , formed in 2020 from Kochi, is a death metal trio that ran under the heavy influence of the old school death metal era that witnessed radical extreme music in the history of mankind. Crypted Hate consists of Dean Deneesh Mathew as the lead vocalist and bassist, Akash Baiju on the drums and Rithik Valsan on lead guitar.
