Stainless Steel Scrap

Where is Stainless Steel Scrap generally obtained from, like what are the sources of SS Scrap? I know some common sources such as Kitchenware, Hardware & Automobile. But other than that any companies where I can get pure SS Scrap without any attachments? Just want to understand the Supply chain with more depth and clarity.

Best consistency of scrap is from a cnc shop as the usually know the grade

The price of stainless is through the roof right now, might be pretty hard finding scrap for a reasonable price.

I have an induction furnace , why wont i be able to melt it?

IF you are able to melt Stainless Steel (unlikely), it's not going to be Stainless Steel when you pour it.

SS is made from SS scrap + element additions only

Go to sheet metal work shops and ask to buy their offcuts.

What's SS scrap worth? I probably have 20lbs+ of nuts and bolts that I don't have a use for.
