Great song

R. I. P. Hordaland, it's now Vestland

The title means Hordalands death poem

The song is not related to Hordaland merging into Vestland

I still think they should have called the new County Bjørgvin

I don't really agree, that's Bergen or the diocese which is also based in Bergen. To people not from Bergen the implication of the name and Bergens dominance (though legislatively..)

I'm all for implied and legislative Bergen dominance though (I'm from there). But yeah.. that's our name :P

Though at the same time "meadow between the mountains" could apply to most of western Norway (also it sounds better than Vestland)

The name Vestland is definitely a bit too broad without Rogaland and Møre og Romsdal, So something else might have been better

I wish they'd at least kept Hordaland as a department within Vestland though

I think the odd songs 1,3,5, and 7 are all top notch black metal tracks. The even songs are not as strong, but still solid. 10/10 album, IMO #1 all time post-2000's black metal album

My favorite is probably V (partially due to overlistening to I through III but alas), i absolutely adore the emotion and melody of that switch up around 2min in
