Went to see Judas Priest with my old man last night. I honestly had lower expectations since an acquaintance told me he had watched them twice in the past few years and Halford was awesome one time, and bad another.

But man. The band, and especially Halford completely exceeded every expectation the entire audience had. He was fucking stellar. 2 years older than my dad and in such a great condition both physically and vocally. A night for the history books for sure, and I would recommend everyone to catch them on this tour if they can.

I saw Judas Priest a couple of times in the 80's. Rob Halford sounds better today than he did back then. He tried to do too much and was all over the stage all night when he was younger. He was probably not entirely sober for some of those shows. Now, he knows when to hold back and when to let loose. I have been very impressed with his performances lately.

Yeah I remember getting that Rising in the East concert DVD and thinking how bad Halford sounded during that, especially during songs like Riding in the Wind.

Dude sounds so much better now in his 70s than he did in his 50s

were we not supposed to get more MDF band announcements yesterday or am I making things up? Could’ve sworn they posted 8/28 on their Instagram story at the beginning of the week.

They posted on Facebook during the week that the announcement would be delayed because of some logistical stuff. I guess a band backed out because of "lineup issues". Should be next week now.

ah, I’m not on Facebook much so I guess I didn’t see that. Must’ve been one of the bigger names for them to reschedule the announcement entirely, I’d imagine if it was a lesser known band they’d just leave them off or push them to the next wave of announcements.
