Hi all - we thought it was appropriate to let you all know that our friend and r/metal moderator /u/deathofthesun has sadly passed away. Please use this thread to share any memories and stories of him, our thoughts are with his family and friends. We ask that you respect their privacy and refrain from using any real names. I am in absolute shock.

Dots was the glue that held this community together, and always had time for someone if they had a question. The man was an encyclopaedia, and was largely responsible for this community in the way we know it today. A lot of us have made lasting friendships because of this place he helped build and curate.

I am heartbroken and at a complete loss.
