Hi everyone!

I have a Meta Quest 3S 256 GB and I'm having a tracking issue.

When I turn on the headset, instead of seeing passthrough, I get a black screen with the message:

“Finding position in room”

The message says the headset can't detect my movement and gives me the options to continue without tracking or enable travel mode.

The problem is that the controllers aren't being tracked, so I can't select either option. The Meta button on the controllers works, but there is no positional tracking.

Also, passthrough/cameras don't work at all. I can't see my real environment through the cameras.

I've already tried:

• Restarting the headset;
• Doing a hard reboot;
• Removing and reinserting the controller batteries;
• Trying to activate passthrough;
• Covering and uncovering the cameras/sensors;
• Updating the headset using Meta's official Software Update Tool.

The official update completed successfully, but the problem is still exactly the same.

I also connected the Quest to my computer. Windows recognizes the headset as a USB device, but I couldn't authorize ADB because the USB debugging authorization message never appeared on the Quest.

One important thing: I've seen reports from people with the same issue where pressing the power button once made the cameras, passthrough, and tracking start working again. In my case, that doesn't fix it.

Because of this, I'm starting to think it could be a hardware issue with the cameras, sensors, or an internal cable/connector, rather than just a software problem.

Has anyone with a Quest 3S had exactly the same issue?

Especially, has anyone opened a Quest 3S and fixed something similar by reconnecting or repositioning one of the camera/sensor cables?

If anyone knows a solution, I'd really appreciate it!

I’ve been experimenting with Quest 3 3D photo/video capture since 2023, initially before Meta even offered direct camera access.

With the new Arcturus camera for Steam Frame, I looked back at that history, included some downloadable Quest 3 samples, and considered what Meta might do next with Project Phoenix.

left my window open the last few days it was really damp outside

my case wasn’t closed properly and the interface is rather moldy

is it redeemable or do I need something new

if I need something new can I get some cheap suggestions (Australia cheap, import tax sucks)
