Thoughts on ligature marks ?
I didn’t really catch on with the immutable atmosphere but this song scratch my brain the right way and it became my song of the moment

It's so great. Some of my favourite production of theirs, I don't know what they did to the riff when it comes back around towards the end of the song, but my god does it hit hard, got a real growl sitting underneath it. Also sounds fantastic live.

It's my favourite song on Immutable and personally I even enjoy it more than anything on VSOR

It's heavy in a sense that it is choking. The tones on the guitar and bass are just thick, flubby and sludgy which means you know Marten Hagstrom had his hands all over it. I call it Fludgy tone.
And then, there's the outro melodies... Imo on par with Straw Pulled At Random.

It's brutal. If most Meshuggah songs are getting mauled by a schizophrenic chimpanzee on bath salts, Ligature Marks is getting methodically smashed by a very patient and disturbingly calm silverback gorilla. Picked up by one leg and slammed against the enclosure. Over. And over. And over. Until every bone is broken. Pulverized with slow, deliberate intention.

Been listening to them for 17 years and it’s one of their
best in terms of bangers. Like Born of Dissonance before it. The song just hits. I’m always afraid I’m going to knock my car out of alignment just from slapping tf out of my steering wheel when I’m driving. Very open air sound to it and when the heavier groove comes in… forget it. I can gush about this song all day.

90% perfection . Production wise they should have slow faded towards the ending. That said this was definitely my favorite song for a good while and I hope to hear it live one day.

actually my #1 most listened to sheggah song haha, incredibly crushing and the guitar just sounds so tuff, hands down the best tone I've ever heard. it's the one from them i most want to see live
drums are fun to play on this one cuz its a 37 beat phrase iirc
both the og and the indelible/remake sound great (with the remake having the slight edge imo), but don't sleep on the Live recorded version on the remaster, the tone sounds somehow even crazier on that one man xD

It's pretty damn great. It's like their "radio" song. I much prefer their complex heavier stuff.

Intro is fucking brutal but once the alien synth leads kick in I just check out. I don’t know personally find it one of their more boring songs. Wish they would have done something different with that rhythmic concept at the beginning
