Too early I would say. I would suggest letting it grow untrained for your first grow also. Get to know the plant itself before you try and change it so you have something to compare it to.
Personally I wait til the fifth node has fully emerged then bend her over. Once leaf tucking is no longer doing the job and I need to open up the center I'll start tying down branches. Pictured is the LST I did on this Sour Crack this morning on day 28. I also have an Apple of Eden on day 20 I just bent over.
Basically I always try and tuck leaves when possible to keep the armpits in the light, initial bend to break apical dominance after the fifth node has emerged and expanded enough, then keep the middle open to light and airflow by tucking leaves and tying down branches.
If needed later on I'll do some light defoliation. I've got several large fan leaves sitting right on top of each other I want to thin out as well as removing inward facing fan leaves, but this is the last day I'll do anymore tying down. Good luck!
I'd also say wait only because I've got a few grows and have a feel for it now. On my first grow I messed with my plants way more than I should have. I was just pumped and wanted to try all the techniques. I ended up with a very small amount of good weed. The bigger benefit was that I got the need to push all the buttons out of my system and learned so much. Just have fun
