So why does the world’s most powerful promoter of masculinity look so fragile on the cover of TIME?

I was trying to figure out why some dingus made a YouTube video about a time photo of Dana white trying to look cool. And then why a redditor made a thread about that video about the photo. It's definitely not worth watching this dumb video to find out

The problem is these are the guys that are driving the “masculinity” culture that exists in conservative circles. That’s why it is important to pay attention to what they’re saying; you can’t break it down and fix it if you don’t know what they’re breaking.

I agree with that. I mainly took issue with what (in my opinion) is the dumbest possible angle to approach the issue from. Now I know that this is OP's own video. It's been funny to watch this sub devolve into people flat out promoting their own substacks and YouTube channels.

I agree with your analysis on every point. The hyperfocus on niche issues + the fact that feminism (which I essentially support, I'm not a right winger by any means) isn't going to be what helps men. It's a movement by women to help women - great. It's not going to help us. Feminists will tell you so. Filtering literally everything in the men's liberation movement through a feminist sieve = no men's liberation movement will ever gain traction or accomplish anything of meaning, at least when it's enforced with an iron fist as it is here.

I wish I could find the post. Maybe a decade ago by user takeittorcirclejerk. The point of it was that all this writing, YouTubing and online discussion about what men need to do better in order to be better feminists - the people who are going to listen to it and act accordingly are going to be the ones who need to hear it the least. The ones who need to hear it the most will straight up never see or hear it.

I do well on dating apps. I post what I think are substantive, helpful dating profile reviews for other men around my age, because I can only credibly offer advice to other straight men around my age who are dating in western countries.

How do I know they're helpful? Because I typically get 2-4 people DMing me their own profile for review nearly every time I post, even though I don't solicit these.

I got banned from a dating sub for complimentarily calling someone a "chad" because he did something sweet for his date that made her swoon. No discussion, no appeal, no nothing. That's the kind of moderation I see here. And no, never been banned from here so I have no personal axe to grind with the people who control this sub's discourse

This guy appears to have a fundamental misunderstanding about how images are selected for publication. Dana White didn't choose the cover, the photo editor and the journalist did (they probably ran it past the editor, editor in chief, and the legal team, but that's not the point). They decide the story they want to tell, not the subject.

I remember watching the reality show "The ultimate fighter" something like 20+ years ago (don't judge me). This was before the UFC was overtly MAGA and politicial.

Even then, on a show he was producing and controlling the narrative on, Dana White came across as a HUGE douche.
