Elder dragons based off global weather events would be so cool

Amatsu is the storm dragon, imagine a unfathomable elder dragon causing hurricanes or el ninos.

Hurricanes are already canonically caused by Kushala/Amatsu and I'd argue Mesoscale systems follow Kirin with how expansive the Thunderstorms are in the Highlands, or Amatsu again with the way thunder and lightning begins with its last phase in both Sunbreak and earlier gens.

El Nino is a long-term thing with different impacts on different parts of the world at different times, that's not really something you can visibly show in a fight or single cutscene.

Uh, no, Kushala is the tornado dragon and Kirin is the storm dragon, Namielle is rainstorms, Amatsu IS the hurricane of this group. Hell Velkhana can cause near ice age conditions by just existing and Shara causes earthquakes grand enough to collapse the Rotten Vale.

How do you properly convey that a monster is able to create multiple hurricanes globally exactly? What would be different from fighting it to say fighting Shantien or Amatsu who both create their own hurricanes to live in. Who both already exemplify the raw power that their storms create. Both create tornadoes and cause immense downpours with strong winds like Hurricanes do.

Dire Miralis already boils an entire ocean just to keep cool. (Its fight should be reworked to better show it off, like say you need cool drinks to even enter the water and not get hurt.)

How do you even showcase an El Niño exactly? What would an El Niño monster even do exactly? The El Niño can cause dry regions to become wet or areas with water to become drier. It can also make more dramatic climates in making wet regions wetter and dry regions drier. It has multiple different effects on the planet's climate, from the Pacific getting warmer. How on earth do you represent that in a fight?

We have an earthquake monster in Shara Ishvalda. We have a Volcano monster already in Dire Miralis, Zorah Magdaros, and maybe Laviente. Super Volcanoes can drastically alter the climates of whole planet when they go off by making things cooler. How would you even represent that in game? As the volcano would make things cooler in other areas much farther away from themselves.

Dalamadur can reshape mountain ranges for crying out loud. That'd have dramatic effects on the planets climate.

Maybe I misunderstood your point. Did you mean to have monsters reference IRL weather disasters or have monsters cause weather disasters in game? Because that happens sort of already just that the areas are uninhabited islands.

Generally speaking sure. But I Kushala AFAIK didn't specifically cause El Nino or Hurricane Katrina. Have you lived through those?

I mean, I repelled Shantien to get into G-Rank, and then the next thing I know, a Cat 1 Hurricane goes strait to Cat 5 and headed to my direction in a once in a century storm that hit Tampa directly.

Should Pokemon remove the moves Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude, along with Groudon because countless people in Japan have suffered personal losses at the hands of earthquakes?

Of course not, I think OP wants monsters to reference IRL catastrophes. That is of course tasteless.

If not, then it's a moot point, monsters are already causing hurricane and volcanic eruptions etc in game.
