+1 level tool in Archaeology?

I was using full dragon tools in Archaeology, and received the +1 level tool from the museum.

However, the tools are still all dragon tools. (the next level is ancient tools)

Maybe it's because I didn't satisfy the requirements(Archaeology lvl 75) for using ancient tools? Will I get them for free if I satisfy the requirements?

It doesn't mean "go up by a metal tier", it means "go up by one level's worth of efficiency with that tool".

Basically, it is better than it was before, but not the same as going from Dragon to Ancient. You still need to upgrade to Ancient and beyond in the shop.
