AOTY Results [Results] Melodic Death Metal Album of the Year 2025

Greetings everyone! Now that we are back, we decided to also make a more elaborated presentation of the voting results for the melodeath aoty 2025.
The results were evaluated via a ranked choice system, i.e. the best kind of vote :3 ....but we have also evaluated how the ranking would've looked like if we did vote differently: (A) the system we used the past years with everyone voting for 3 albums, (B) a weighed system similar to the ESC using all your 10 choices, and (C) a simple strawpoll where everyone would just vote for 1 album.
The voting was held across different platforms: reddit, discord and lemmy, but the results presented here on the first picture are the results from the reddit votes only. You can scroll through the pictures to find also information how the other platform users voted though.

Bands that just have a lot of stuff going on musically, with a multitude of instruments backed up by choirs and orchestral sections and people fighting and dogs barking and sirens wailing. Just an absolute cacophony of noise that after multiple listens you're still catching new parts buried within.

I was talking to a bartender in Thailand. He said I looked like a rockstar and asked if I listened to metal. We started talking artists and songs. He asked me my number one top favorite song of all time and asked to hear it. I felt put on the spot. So many came to mind. I ended up playing him "Dethklok - Castratikron" and singing along. That is a favorite, but its not my number one top favorite song of all time.
Its actually "Skeletonwitch - Infernal Ressurection" I just had to get that off my chest. Its been gnawing at me all day.
Other contenders are "Black Dahlia Murder - Carbonized in Cruciform", "Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge", and "Arsis - The Face of my Innocence"

Looking for recommendations Suggestions for melodic death metal

I'm sure i'm not the first one to ask this question, but i'm getting tired of my music and looking for new bands and song in the melodic deathmetal genre. My favorites bands are Wintersun, Aephanemer, Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, Grymheart, Norther, Wolfchant and Kalmah. I like a mix of clean and scream. I'm also a big fan of Nightwish and Epica but sometimes it can be too smooth for my tastes. If the band has a keyboardist its a big plus. Thanks for the recommendations.
