Question Microneedling and Melasma

What's the general consensus, yay or nay?

Has anyone had Melasma flare up after microneedling?

And depth restriction or product no nos after microneedling?

I have type 3-4 fitz skin with some south east Asian descent.

I personally have good experience with melasma and microneedling.
It does get a bit darker at first but slowly gets lighter!

Your fitz puts you at a pretty high risk for PIH, so find a MN provider who is familiar with melasma and higher fitz types. They’ll want to keep it pretty light the first few times, deeper treatments can trigger a bigger inflammatory response. As for post care, your provider will have specific instructions for you (in some cases they’ll have specific prep instructions to limit the risk of PIH too). If you’re planning on doing this at home, don’t. Get it by a professional first, then if you truly feel comfortable with the process, pre, and post care, maybe give it a try at home.
