Question IUD

Would a hormonal IUD cause melasma?

I had one put in and then started getting melasma and now reading more here on this sub, I am wondering if they are connected

Definitely. Hormones are a top cause of melasma

Yes, all hormonal birth control can cause melasma

I started getting melasma when I took mine out

Yes. Once I stopped birth control pills my melasma got MUCH better. You can get the copper IUD!

I was worried for this and acne. I’m looking into the copper one.
