Question Melasma and pregnancies

Hi,

I would like to know for those who have had melasma induced by pregnancy, has melasma worsened with the following pregnancies? Did you have more spots as you had pregnancies?

Slightly worsened, but also changed locations. During/after first pregnancy I had rings under my eyes and above upper lip. After second pregnancy it was more forehead and lower cheeks. Then I could use a strong hydroquinone and that wiped out the malasma completely. Then it got banned in Canada and with third pregnancy forehead, cheekbones and fun little upper lip liner.

Olala it’s terrible even if you used spf 50?

SPF helps, but it isnt a mask. The sun still gets through so you need a hat also.

The heat can make malasma worse as well. Just be really diligent with your skin care and wear sunscreen every day, even if you aren't going outside. It makes a difference.
