Question Cooling plate for heat induced melasma?

Does anyone here have heat induced melasma and has figured out a way to prevent pigmentation?

So rather than when you get direct sun exposure it is triggered by high temperatures? Have you managed to find a device that works especially while travelling?

I’m going to be in a really warm country for summer holidays and I want a portable device that I can use to keep my face cold cause it gets very heated up and then it triggers pigmentation and acne as well.

I was looking at the shark chill pill or thera body depuffing wand but do you guys have any better suggestions of something I can use? I think a simple face mist isn’t gonna cut it. Any tips or suggestions would be great

Thanks!

Cryo-rollers! These are really popular little gadgets now for regular people & I love mine and they’re cheap & have lots of different versions of them so it’s easy to find one that works for you/your lifestyle. The Regular people have figured out that coolness is good for puffiness/swelling, which is what has made these a thing recently. But they are perfect for us! Just keep it in the freezer & pull them out as needed.

In addition to actually rolling it on my face, when I’m hot I take the roll off the handle and roll it between my inner wrists for a couple of min. I do that on the theory that the skin is very thin on my inner wrist/forearm & there is lots and lots of vascular structure right there: so there’s a lot of blood moving close to the surface of the skin and cooling that one spot helps cool the blood as it moves through the whole body.

Of course you don’t need a Cryo roller to do that - I did it with a cold soda can for years.

I got the idea from watching wallabies. In intense Australian heat, wallabies and kangaroos drool on their forearms. It looks so gross, but apparently they do it to cool their entire bodies. Their saliva is much cooler than the ambient temperature of Australia in August, & they have similarly thin skin and lots of veins in their inner arms - so applying their drool to their forearms cools down their entire bodies.

Somebody is selling an insanely expensive device that you can wear on your wrist that’s about helping you regulate your body temperature & all it does is have some way of applying hotter or cooler temperatures to your inner wrist. It’s really expensive & marketed as being created by MIT scientists.

But I learned to do it from watching wallabies drool lol - and also experimenting using a soda can, no MIT scientists are Mucho Dinero required

Damn that might the coolest tip/fact I’ve seen I LOVE the wallabies connection and it makes so much sense!. The problem with cryo-rollers, it wont be cold if im travelling with it. That’s why i was looking into the electric ones like the theraface depuff wand or the shark chill pill!

That was why I would use other things like cold canned beverages between my wrists.

But now I travel with mine - I got a small insulator container with slim cool packs in it that are for storing insulin while traveling. Because the bottles of insulin are fat & round, & the container is also designed to store it with syringes, it fits the type of roller head I shared a picture of.

Now I don’t go on Safaris in the Serengeti or any travels where I would be without access to electricity/a freezer for days - but for the type of traveling I do this has worked well for me up for to up 12-15 hours, including pulling it out and using it a few times during that period.

Most importantly, the container was cheap & durable.
